So recently I have been really enjoying experimenting with makeup and have began to teach myself how to properly do a cat eye eyeliner since doing that, I love doing it! It looks really good on lots of different types of face shapes, however it doesn't suit absolutely everyone but I would definitely give it a go! So I thought I would give you a small, and easy, tutorial though pictures and words of how you can achieve the cat eye look!
*
I have used a few liquid eyeliners before, including the Rimmel Scandeleyes Eyeliner, but recently, I found this new brand which I had never used before called 'Essence'. I picked up the 'Extra Long-lasting Eyeliner' and it is such a good quality product - it doesn't smudge, it stays of for such a long time, the pen nib is super fine and the colour is so deep. I love it and so this had to be the eyeliner that I used. I also know that the L'Oreal Super Liner is great for this look as well! Lets get started!
BEFORE
So first I drew a fine line over the top of my eyelid. Don't go over it too much as it will get too thick and will ruin the cat eye effect.
Next, I drew a line connected from the top of the bottom eyelid and then went upwards to create the base of the cat eye flick.
I then connected that base line to another line, from the top of that line to the middle of the thin line on top of the eyelid, so that it makes a very thin, triangular shape but with a bit of a flick at the end.
I then filled the 'triangular' shape in with the eyeliner
I then drew another line down into the lower lash line to make the cat eye look more connected and give it more of an effect, as well as outlining the eye a little bit.
Then using, the 'Benefit They're Real' mascara, I applied a few coats to the upper lashes. I am currently testing it out and I like this mascara a lot and it really gives the effect of what the name implies - that the lashes are real, however after a few coats it can make your eyelashes looked clumped together which I am not so keen on!
I then applied a few coats of the 'Rimmel Glam Eyes' mascara which is one of my favourite mascaras as it is not clumpy at all!
I then filled in my eyebrows using the 'Max Factor' eye shadow in the shade '106' 'Terra Firma'. I think that this is the perfect shade to lightly fill in my eyebrows but I don't do this everyday because it isn't really necessary as my eyebrows are quite darkly coloured for my hair colour.
AFTER
And bobs your uncle - your look is now finished. I love it for nights out and days when I am feeling a bit more daring with my make up and I will be wearing this look a lot more. A good thing about it is that you can change it according to how brave you are feeling, by changing the length of the flick or the amount of mascara. I tend not to apply eyeliner on my water line but that would add a nice effect as well as, outline your eyes. I hope you all like this look as much as I do.
Good Luck!
